MCLM CPA & Co. was founded in 2025 by Ma. Clarence Marcelo-Alaba, in collaboration with co-founder Kimberly Joie Evangelista, to meet the growing demand for reliable audit, assurance, and tax advisory services in the Philippines.
Both founders are proud alumnae of the University of the East, where they earned their degrees in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and successfully passed the CPA licensure examinations. Their shared academic foundation and commitment to excellence laid the groundwork for what would become a forward-thinking and client-centered professional firm.
Clarence began her career in private practice and the academe, where she honed her skills in financial reporting, tax compliance, and professional education. In 2015, she transitioned into public practice, securing accreditations with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and the Board of Accountancy (BOA), and building a solid reputation for integrity and client care.
Meanwhile, Kimberly built her expertise over 13 years in private practice, specializing in audit and financial management. Her extensive experience includes key audit responsibilities in one of the most prominent banks in the Philippines, equipping her with valuable insights into risk management, controls, and regulatory compliance.
With their combined experience and complementary strengths, Clarence and Kimberly established MCLM CPA & Co. to serve a growing clientele that demands trusted financial stewardship, strategic tax planning, and sound audit practices. The firm stands as a testament to their shared vision of excellence, professionalism, and service built on trust.

Founder / Managing Partner
Ma. Clarence Marcelo-Alaba, the Founder and Managing Partner of MCLM CPA & Co., is a seasoned tax practitioner and public accounting professional whose career is deeply rooted in a passion for empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Philippines.
Clarence began her academic journey at the University of the East, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Accountancy in 2010. She later pursued and completed her Master’s in Business Administration at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila in 2014, demonstrating her commitment to lifelong learning and leadership in the business and finance sectors.
In 2015, Clarence obtained her accreditations with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and the Board of Accountancy (BOA), officially launching her public practice. Since then, she has focused her work on tax advisory services for MSMEs, driven by the belief that supporting small businesses is a meaningful way to contribute to national development. She sees MSMEs not only as economic drivers but also as key agents of job creation and community upliftment.
Further strengthening her qualifications, Clarence was accredited by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) in 2021, and in 2025, she completed the first level of the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)program, aligning her expertise with international standards of excellence in finance and accounting.
With a growing number of clients and a clear mission in mind, she established MCLM CPA & Co. in 2025. The firm was built to serve as a reliable partner to MSMEs, providing them with professional and ethical audit, assurance, and tax advisory services. Clarence’s genuine care for small business owners and her deep understanding of their challenges are what set the firm apart.
Today, as Managing Partner, she leads MCLM CPA & Co. with a vision of creating long-term value for clients, upholding the highest standards of integrity, and continuously evolving to meet the demands of an ever-changing business environment.

Kimberly Joie Evangelista, Co-Founder and Partner of MCLM CPA & Co., brings over a decade of solid experience in the audit industry, underpinned by a deep commitment to supporting the growth and sustainability of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Philippines.
Her professional journey began in 2010 upon graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of the East. In 2011, Kimberly joined one of the most prominent banks in the Philippines, where she embarked on a distinguished career in audit. Her work involved exposure to high-level financial systems, internal controls, and regulatory compliance, providing her with a strong foundation in risk-based auditing and financial oversight.
Driven by her evolving passion to contribute more directly to the local business sector, Kimberly pursued further qualifications and in 2025, she received her accreditations with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and the Board of Accountancy (BOA), marking her official entry into public practice. That same year, she also completed the first level of the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) program, further aligning her skills with global professional standards.
Kimberly’s desire to co-establish MCLM CPA & Co. stemmed from her recognition of the crucial role MSMEs play in the Philippine economy. Her experience in the banking industry revealed the untapped potential and challenges faced by small businesses, and she became deeply committed to being part of the solution. Through her work, she aims to provide these enterprises with expert audit, assurance, and advisory services that help foster transparency, accountability, and long-term growth.
